Dog knows processed, enhanced food is bad?

My 1 year old shih tzu would not eat enhanced chicken, egg or the like. But when I get those chicken and eggs in higher grade with no enhancement, he would eat them. Does enhanced food have certain taste/smell that repulse the dog away?
