Was my guy friend using me or just confused with what he wants?

ive been friends with this guy for over a year. in the beginning he had "intrest" in me but i wasnt up for dating. now awhile later i think i am, we have been texting alot flirtous texts. last weekend we hung out and kissed and a lil more. we hung out for the entire weekend acted all cute. but come this week we havent talked much he texts me " hi, and sup.' is he just texted me because he feels the need to? did he use me for ***? help!!
