Why cant i connect my new cisco linksys e1000 router?

Ok so i want to upgrade my router, currently i have a Belkin G+ MIMO router, and im trying to install my new Linksys E1000 router, and i get to the install guide, and as it is connecting to the network it will get to about 25% and then it will give me an error and say, "we cannot find your router". what is up man???? someone help plz!!
